I will admit, part of the reason why I love London quite so much is because of childhood experiences of watching Mary Poppins.

When Bert refers to the rooftops as "a trackless jungle just waiting to be explored", the shot that follows was one of the most beautiful things I ever saw as a kid.. Not entirely sure why it resonated so much, but it just did.. And then the shot when they look across at the sunset..

I honestly believe that the impact of those shots on my childhood notion of beauty could keep me happy living in London for the rest of my life. I know they're not real, but just being in London still gives me the same feelings all the same :o)

When I was younger, I went through a phase in which I watched Mary Poppins every day for probably two or three weeks. I think I still know the words to all the songs...

I know all the words to all the songs, but that's because they're programmed into all Brits from birth.

Now I have Chim-Chimney stuck in my head.

*shakes fist*

It's cool that it still clicks for you like that. That's what it means to truly love a place.

maybe this is the source of my London love. I absolutely adore visiting your city :-)
