(PS, for those of you who haven't had SQL surgically inserted into their arses like I feel like I have, that effectively means I never post to this thing when I'm not bored ;o)

Stupid SQL. I love it. But it's stupid and I hate it. It's a confusing situation. In theory, it's all logical, I'm really rather good at it all (I was, sadly, born with the knowledge of how to use databases, not especially well mind, but I've always known how to do it), and like, everything I'm doing is working. But I hate it.

UPDATE [Model Numbers] SET [Number this Month] = [Number this Month] + 1 WHERE [Model Number] = txtModelType.Value;

SELECT [Number this Month] FROM [Model Numbers] WHERE [Model Number] = txtModel.Value;

Grr... Anyhow, I've got it sorted - my dad told me how to do it. It's great being able to just call him and ask Database questions without getting billed for it ;o)

I can't do Database stuff to save my life. I completely failed my assignment last semester at college. Bah.

The first one increments the counters associated with the model number you're looking at right now.

The second one then obtains the value of that counter.

Not much really

I have enjoyed reading your notes. You are really interesting. and that is ment to be a compliment.

I'm just storing them up until you have some money:-)

Bah, you'll be long dead by then ;o)

BTW - glad to see you got to work okay, I had been a little concerned :o)

Bah, you'll be long dead by then

Yes, you're probably right.

BTW - thanks, it all happened before jct 5 so I had an almost empty motorway until Wycombe. Assumed there had been an accident.
