It's cold out there today...
2012

... it's cold out there every day. Spot the movie reference for bonus points. But yeah, I had to go out, and due to circumstances beyond my control, I did not have access to my jacket. So I had to go wandering at 1am in a t-shirt and my summer jacket, which affords no protection from the cold. But I was fine. Because I live in a city by the sea, and it's always warm :o)

So yeah, went out, bought crap, came back. Curry Pringles will be the death of me - they're so addictive, and so yummy. But I must be strong, must resist. I've been working out my finances for the rest of the term - I look to be okay, all told. With any luck, I'll get through the rest of the term fine. Especially since I've decided to go on sabbatical. It's quite simple - science is getting me down. Like, really. It's so repetitive and static, and I'm sure that's meant to be the appeal, but it just feels so suffocating at times. I know what my end-of-term assignments are, I know what my obligations to the subjects are, and so I'm dropping down to a bare minimum level before it depresses me too much. I won't be lazy, I'll just be putting my efforts into other things.

And am I really the only non-American who isn't overly happy to see Canada win that medal? As I pointed out on Usenet...
>Canada wins gold!!!

Yeah, but in a few years time, another country will have that
medal, and you'll still be Canadians.
I guess I'm just too American to actually like Canada.... I apologise :o)

Anyway, on with the show.....

It's like England and cricket ... if the Ashes actually came home ... ;-)

Heh, you don't count as a Canadian, you count as a Brit, so it's okay ;o)

By the way - if the Ashes came home, I'd wait until the next year so as to laugh at my stupid country when we lost them. I'm mean like that ;o)

what's wrong with being canadian? please tell me... i have a thing for brits [and would like to possibly become one--or close to--someday], but what's with the attitude? sure our dollar's worth crap and all we do is play hockey, curl, hang out at tim horton's and drink beer... but what did we ever do to you??

Canadians are French people who wish they were Americans ;o)

*ducks*

(just so you know, that was most certainly kidding. I just prefer the US to Canada, that's all...)

FRENCH peoople???

(Anonymous)
lol... boy, you deserve a smack for that one. i'm not french, never will be and proud of it. and that's fine, you prefer the US... but you do know what canadians think of americans, right?

Re: FRENCH peoople???

But of course :o)

do you ever get tired of people saying that you're hott? :0)

Couldn't possibly comment :o)

You do know if the USA won you'd probably party your ass off right? So don't be all like "Yeah, but in a few years time, another country will have that medal, and you'll still be Canadians....blah blah blah.." cause yes, we still will be Canadians who *did* win gold.. and who *were* very proud of our country for being the best...
But think...If USA would have won...in a few years time that glory would be pasted on and you all would still just be Americans...

I wouldn't party. I'd just smile inwardly about it. It's only hockey...

true.. true indeed.. I'm not much of a hockey fan.. but it was the first time in 50 years for us.. so give us a break huh..
