Lits - a Brief Explanation
2012
unknownj
OK, on Usenet, there are a few phrases you must learn if you want to set yourself aside from the common plebs. Basically, you have to talk exactly like them, but obviously so. Thus, words are mis-spelled deliberately, in a vague attempt at base irony. For instance, one of the things that newbie netKKKop scum seem to say often would be:
"I HAVE ADDED YOU TO MY LIST. YOU WILL BE REPORTED"
As a member of Usenet's social, cultural, and intellectual elite, it's up to you to take the piss. If anybody ever says something you disagree with, you must respond thusly:
"I HABE ADDED YOU TO MY LITS. YOU WILL BE REPROTED"
You see how that works?

There's a huge long list of words you have to say wrong, including SPNAK, LITS, REPROTED, HABE, along with a load of others....

Anyhow, I'm reading a lot of When I Grow Up strips lately... They're funny. What's even funnier, though, is the person who writes them. Groovy....

Heh, out the back of my house, the garden is sunny, but the only sky I can see through the window is covered in almost black cloud. Makes for quite an interesting contrast there... Everything is bright except the sky :o)

Habeing ur likns opren in seperate windowz wud B nice :)

I usually put a target="_blank" in there, but it's so much easier to just right-click and select "Open in new window", or indeed just click with Mouse2 if you're running whatever flavour of *nix our CS labs run. I automatically open all links in new windows, so I just get used to it :o)
