I think I'm just about up to writing about this now.

So a week ago (exactly), Naomi called me and proposed a challenge. My end of it goes something like this:

If I can drop a stone by February 25th (seven weeks) then she will agree to bring the wedding forward to August 12th this year (which would be our four and a half year anniversary).

Since my weight at that time was fifteen stone exactly (yes Alex, I know I'm fat), that makes the calculation quite straightforward. I need to lose two pounds every week, until I hit fourteen stone by February 25th.

Sounds easy, right?

Well, I guess that's where we'll see. My target is to have lost three pounds by this weekend, so I'll weigh in on the 17th and we'll work it out from there.

Then I'll want to have lost a further four pounds after the next two weeks, which will take me to halfway by the 34th of January, which my super maths skills tell me is the 3rd of February. Hopefully I'll be able to exceed that target, because it'll make the remaining three and a half weeks easier, but we'll worry about that when we get there....

In the meantime, I might be getting married this year :D

Yay, motivation!

You probably already know this, but drink LOTS of water, and if it's coming down to crunch time and you're a little behind schedule, eat only green vegetables (field greens for salad, celery, asparagus), citrus fruits, white meat or eggs for protein, and easy-to-process carbs like bread, light popcorn, and potatoes.

They're all easy-to-process foods, so they're called plateau breakers. They help you lose quickly if the need comes down to it.

Surely this plague you have contracted is helping your endeavor! See. There's a reason for everything.

That's what I was thinking!

Well, congrats on getting married and all, but your finance is asking you to lose weight before she'll marry you?

Yeah, sometimes she beats me for being such a fatty :'o(

The other week, she made me put an apple in my mouth, and she chased me!

That said, in all seriousness, we'd agreed to get married next year, though she knows that I'd rather get married this year instead.. And she knows that my resolution for this year is to get healthy and lose a bunch of fat, so she figured she'd give me an extra incentive.. And it's the best incentive I could possibly have :o)

That is good...
Good motivation. I wish I had that kind of motivation. I could stand to lose 15 pounds.

Fat basta... oh wait you mentioned that already.

I know chocolate is your nemesis, but the best way to do this is to drop sugar. And not just typical sugar like chocolate, but also fructose from fruit and even lactose from milk. Eat pretty much nothing but lean meat and vegetables until Feb. 25th, and do as much walking as you can, and you'll be walking down the aisle this year. Or jumping over a broom, or whatever you Brits do to get married. ;o)
