The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution demanding that Israel comply with a world court ruling to dismantle its West Bank barrier.

The vote was passed with 150 in favour, 6 opposed and 10 abstentions

[...]

US Deputy Ambassador James Cunningham said that the resolution was unbalanced.
I'll say! 150-6 is pretty fucking unbalanced..
"The United States remains convinced that the focus must remain on President Bush's vision of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side," he said.
.. ignoring the fact that, once that objective is reached, if the barrier remains then it will probably be a land-snatch for Israel.. I quote the ICJ
The construction of the wall and its associated regime create a "fait accompli" on the ground that could well become permanent, in which case, and notwithstanding the formal characterisation of the wall by Israel, it would be tantamount to de facto annexation.
Let them live side by side, but let's not let one side build a wall and decide their own (more favourable) borders - especially when that side is already practically invading in the first place...
