So, the weekend
2012

Now is as good a time as any to start going through what I've actually been doing lately...

Let's see... Thursday night I took a train journey to Canterbury to see Eri... Met her friends Emma and Christian, and we all went out to the pub together for a couple of hours... 'twas good fun. Then we journeyed back to UKC, and I'd like to state for the record that I hate that walk... it's unreasonably long, not to mention stupid, and should be avoided if at all possible. I'm not used to walking that far in one go - I live in the middle of the city, everything is nice and nearby...

Friday was Eri's birthday, yayness... I gave her a mix CD, and we went to a lecture.. it was boring, logic, and there was loads of crap with truth tables that made little sense because he insisted on using T/F rather than 1/0, foolish man. If it was a C++ course, it would so have been 1/0... daft Java not being able to understand "if 1{}"...

Oh, and the lecturer was more than a little annoying - he has no voice, so has to whisper through a microphone attached to his glasses. The only explanation I can think of is that UKC aren't able to stop him from taking lectures in case he sues them on account of having a disability. But seriously, he's not a good public speaker, because he breathes very loudly into the mic, and is only up to whispering. He sounds like the spirodons in Planet of the Daleks, it's very irritating.

Anyhow, met up with BPO (Mohawk) and we had a throw around for a bit with some other guys, but it was mostly naff - UKC is not the sort of place to go for Frisbee.

Then 'twas the evening - we got all dressed up, and went to the Freshers Ball. It was actually surprisingly good - there was a cheese/commercial room that we spent all our time in, dancing and stuff. Eri is a good dancer when she lets herself actually get into the music :o)

I danced to YMCA, among other things... Speaking of which, at the Freshers Fair today I spent a while at the LGBT table talking to people I know - with the pink hair, I don't know if that was the best decision I ever made... enough people already think I'm gay :o\

Anyhow, the ball was awesome, but tiring, and so by about half eleven, we decided that our time could be spent sleeping instead, so we went back and collapsed. But damn, we looked hot :o)

On Saturday, we bought food, as I recall... And we saw an albino squirrel - I tried to feed it from my hand, but it was a bit too wild to trust me (though I got within a couple of metres of it).. Shame, I used to feed the ones at Sussex... Anyhow, it was very very pretty and special :o)

Then in the evening, we went out for dinner at this very tacky diner style place, where everything was a very lame imitation of Florida. But the food wasn't bad, the price wasn't too awful, and I for one had a good time...

Sunday.. we went up to London to see FULC, which was less painful than I had been thinking. Watching the guitars made me want to go play mine, so it was good from that point of view. I also got to meet Kalie, which was a pleasure - she's even littler than I thought, but not in a bad way, and she's very nice and stuff with it. By this point Eri wasn't feeling well, so I took her back home and looked after her... I put her in a taxi and took her back to her room, and worried lots...

Then I woke up the next morning feeling like shit, and it was her turn to look after me... we are rubbish... :o) We went to a java lecture, and I took notes for her, and tried to explain what the lecturer was saying better than he did... On which note - he was such a lying bastard. He said you can't use the name of an existing variable as a parameter in a method - of course you can, that's what this.* is for. He also said that java is compiled into 1's and 0's, which is bollocks - it compiles into an intermediate code, hence why it can be used on all platforms but not without Java installed.... There was another blatant falsehood, but I forget what it was... regardless, the man is an eejit...

28...

Anyhow, then Eri had classes, after which we went to a bar for some food, and I ate lots of it and it had vegetables in, and I was a big brave boy, and I'm well proud of myself :o)

And then it was time to be going back home again... And here I am... There's more, but not right now.. :o)

Ummm... what was that about me being a wuss and there not being a hill? ;)

The only explanation I can think of is that UKC aren't able to stop him from taking lectures in case he sues them on account of having a disability.

Apparently it's a new thing and should only be temporary... and I hope it is as he is the supervisor of one of my classes and one of my seminars :'(

BAH!!!!!! Enough with the evil lies!

:D :D :D :D :D etc...

I love you :)

Twas a pleasure meetin u to Sir! And I'm glad that you thought so to, but honestly did you really have to recall how many times you'd *ahem* to Eri? :P

It's not a bad hill or anything... my complaint is that the walk takes upwards of half an hour, which is just unreasonable! I can walk to my office in 6 minutes, to the sea in 8 minutes, to the station in 2 minutes... double figures is stupid...

And you were doing more than smiling before ;o)

You were doing more than counting ;)
