Um, what the fuck is going on? Do they honestly expect anybody (apart from mainstream consumerist Americans) to believe this?

Hey, maybe the product is legit.

It could be cyanide, napalm, a cremator... Any number of products will do what they promise.

How about the links to the BBC and ABC News?

I received this "spam" on Aug. 15th. I wondered whether it was for real or just "quackery". Well, there were links in the story about the BBC and ABC investigations. Any ideas how the BBC and ABC News got to do stories about this product - an extract from crocodile?

Re: How about the links to the BBC and ABC News?

The science seems genuine enough - crocodiles are adapted to be better able to survive infection...

However, the key points are these - firstly, this 'company' has announced that they've got the 'antidote' to work on humans - no news stories back that up.

And the most important point is that the news stories talk about the antibiotic properties of the protein. That's anti-bacteria. Most of the things listed on "the antidote"'s site are viral, and an antibiotic wouldn't help. This protein attacks bacteria, whereas IIRC, flu, the common cold, HIV, cancer, etc., none of these have anything to do with bacterial microbes.

Ergo, it's bollocks.

Just came across your journal. I'm american, and even I know it's crap.

Just putting our collective word in, I guess you could say.
