I really do love this song...
One hundred million reasons to
Ignore wanting to be with you
One hundred million eyes behind these walls
Watching you, hearing you, knowing you

Keep me a secret
Keep me out your arms
Keep my kisses off your lipstick
Stop me swallowing your charms

Keep yourself a secret
Lock up all your doors
I'll keep you out of my dreams
Just you keep me out of yours
I also quite like Tatu's cover of The Smiths - How Soon Is Now... I'm probably going to Hell for that... On the plus side, I do a nice cover of Private Eye by Alkaline Trio, that should make up for it at least a bit....

It is suprisingly good. When people don't try and impersonate morrissey's voice, smiths covers work so much better.

Agreed - the best covers are almost always those which are significantly different from the original... After all, if I want to hear something that sounds like The Smiths, I'll listen to The Smiths. That's why I often quite like dance covers of songs - it's a song I like in a new style, it's often quite interesting to listen to...

The Fame Academy Album - 14 - Ainslie - Keep me a secret

uh-uh, you're going to hell *twice*! i'm genuinely appalled.

Appalled? At what, the fact that a guy with a nice voice who is a fan of a group I've liked since childhood managed to produce a song that I liked enough to download?

I mean really, who gives a fuck if he was on Fame Academy - I never watched it. All I know is that he sings a song in a similar style to the band James, with lyrics and vocals which set it above the usual boyband trash, and that I like said song. Given that, I'll damn well listen to it if I want to.

I just wrote about 300 words replying to this, and Cuntwave Media Arse just fucking closed the fucking window FOR NO APPARENT REASON. Shit.

Okay:

1/ Didn't mean to piss you off, I apologise.

2/ I watched some of Lame Academy and I don't know which one Ainslee was, but none of them were any good, what training they received forced them into the same homogenous and tedious sound-a-like vocal range as every other popstar under the sun.

3/ I was a bit upset to find that some guy I was supposed to be in a punk band with was listening to the homogenous crap that primarily exists to make money. It's the baked beans of music. Hell, if you wanna listen to that crap, that's your choice, man - quite often we don't choose what we like, eh - but it's still disappointing. I guess I am an elitist in that I think music should be about expression or art rather than cynical exploitation.

4/ You have every right to listen to what the hell you like, who cares what anyone else says, right? And I have every right to express my opinion if I want to. Why that should provoke such a vitriolic reaction I don't know - bear in mind that I know just about no-one whose taste in music is close in mine, so I get people hammering my tastes in music a lot - and it is upsetting, but there you are. Opinions are like arseholes. :P

I'm gonna leave it at that.
